So we talked about it a little last week and it’s days away before it’s at a theater near you. I’m talking about The Martian with Matt Damon in the lead as an astronaut on a trip to Mars who get’s left on the planet when a huge storm arises and everyone must evacuate.

Circumstances that be leave on of the crew behind and presumed dead, much later to find out that he is not dead at all the a new journey begins to get him back.

Thirty eight (38) years after a movie like Star Wars caught the public eye countless films have combined sci-fi and real technology in new films. Such is the case in The Martian which only took $108 Million dollars to bring to the screen.
Some calling it a merge between Apollo 13 and Castaway and a celebration of math, science and the sheer human will to exist.

It’s one of those films that contains many scenes shot by Go-Pro cameras and just for a minute or more makes us believe, and more so now with water just discovered on Mars, that we can make that trip ourselves in a few short yeas.

A must see movie if your a Matt Damon fan and if your a fan of space exploration itself. The Martian from director Ridley Scott, Rated PG13, 20th Century Fox.

Another Great Film to watch out for is The Walk, the true story of a young Philippe Petit and a few friend who together achieve the impossible. They band together and defy incredible physical obstacles as well as personal struggles to perform an illegal high wire walk between the World Trade Center towers when they were still erect.

Hollywood magic put you way up 110 feet in the sky on a high wire between these two magnificent building. The scenes are magnificent and the suspense riveting till finally your....well you’ll see.

One of my favorite, fine, young actors, Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrays the young Petit. The film may seem to start out a little slow but builds and builds until it’s climax in the last 30 minutes. It’s Rated PG from SONY Pictures at runs 2 Hours at 3 minutes.

Many other great films are still available to check out at your local theaters. Keep an eye of for these; The Intern, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails and Everest.

For the kids, Hotel Transylvania 2 is also still around for them to see.

Have a great Fall season and we’ll see you soon At The Movies.
