So we’ve talked about the fruit of the GODS before, remember? The food of the GODS is the Avocado. Reason being is that the avocado is high in heart healthy saturated fats.
How ever, did you know that is exactly what the avocado and Coconut Oil have in common.
Just like the coconut the avocado is also a fruit. They both come from a tree and, they are both high in saturated fats. “Saturated fats not only increase the healthy cholesterol (known as HDL) in your body, but also help to convert the LDL “bad” cholesterol into good cholesterol. By Increasing the HDL’s in the body, it helps promote heart health, and lower the risk of heart disease.”
Awesome news if you don’t want to eat avocado every day. Coconut oil is the answer for getting a great amount of saturated fats on a daily basis. You can cook with it or ad it to all sorts of food directly from the jar. You can even take a spoonful followed by a sip of soy milk or any of your other favorite drinks. You can add it to recipes and use it for baking as well.
I like to make this great oatmeal concoction that you might like as well.
Take a mason jar. Pour in a serving of plain oatmeal. Add about an ounce of Chia Seeds, place the lid on the jar and mix well. Remove the lid and Add a Tablespoon of Coconut Oil plus Cinnamon to taste and a Tablespoon of Natural Honey. Top it all off with soy milk to about ½ an inch above the mixture. Put the lid back on the jar, give it a shake or two and leave in the fridge until morning. The next morning , open and munch away.
Every single thing in that mixture is great for your body and your health and tasty as well.
A little added info about coconut oil. It contains two qualities that help it fight cancer. One, because of the ketones produced in it’s digestion. Tumor cells are not able to access the energy in ketones and are glucose
dependent. It is believed that a ketogenic diet could be a possible component of helping cancer patients recover. Two, as the MCFA’s (medium-chain fatty acids) digest the lipid walls of bacteria, they also can kill the helicobacter pylori bacteria that has been known as increasing the risk of stomach cancer. Even in studies where cancer is chemically induced, the introduction of coconut oil prevents cancer from developing!
In a study in India, the high levels of antioxidants present in virgin coconut oil reduced inflammation and healing arthritis more effectively than leading medications. In another recent study, coconut oil that was harvested with only medium heat was found to suppress inflammatory cells. It worked as both an analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
