 In 1967 a group of musicians turned a dream into reality, that dream turned into record sales topping the 100,000,000 mark,including 21 top ten singles.
An incredible 25 of their 34 albums have been certified platinum,and they have a total of 47 gold and platinum awards. They called themselves CHICAGO, considered one of the longest running and most successful pop, rock'n'roll bands in history.Chicago is the highest charting American band in Billboard's Magazine list of top 100 artists of all time, coming in at #13.Before Chicago they were called THE BIG THING then they moved to Los Angeles California and signed to Columbia Records back in 1968,buy then the name changed to "The Chicago Transit Authority".In 1969 their first record was released as a double album which was a rare thing for a band who was to have their first release, by 1970 the double album had sold over 1 million copies and was awarded a platinum disc.When the actual Chicago Transit Authority entered legal proceedings soon after the albums release, the bands name was shortened to just CHICAGO.
