We’re approaching the downhill of the, oh so short, Holiday season and the movies are still becoming you to a nearby theater.
Have you had a chance to see any of the season’s latest? Yes ? No? Did you catch Jaime Fox in the latest version of Robin Hood? Rated: PG13 from Summit Entertainment, this latest adaptation of the classic tale Robin of Loxley, played by Taron Egerton, a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander who is played by a one armed Jamie Foxx. Together they mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance. Be prepared though, this script portrays the church as the greedy, money hungry, controlling entity some truly believe it is. One which created Hell and it’s demons to keep the flock in check. Runtime is; 116 Minutes. What about the latest with Liam Neeson, kind of, WIDOWS? I say kind of because Liam’s part though integral to the story is quite short overall. “From Academy Award (R)-winning director Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”) and co-writer and bestselling author Gillian Flynn (“Gone Girl”) comes a blistering, modern-day thriller set against the backdrop of crime, passion and corruption. “Widows” is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities. Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Oscar (R) winner Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms. “Widows” also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Daniel Kaluuya, Lukas Haas and Brian Tyree Henry.” From 20th Century Fox “Widows” runs 128 Minutes. Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year at The Movies. |
