Fall is here and along with the cool temps it would seem there are lot of cool movies on the way as well.
First, a performance so powerful by Joaquin Phoenix that even theaters themselves are putting out a serious parental warning about the movie “Joker”. “PARENTAL WARNING, This is Not a Joke. Joker is Rated R and for Good Reason. There’s a lot of very, very rough language, Brutal Violence and Over All Bad Vibes. It’s a gritty and realistic, Taxi Driver-esque depiction of one man’s descent into Madness. It Is Not For Kids.” **If you suffer from any sort of Mental Condition Please Consult Your Mental Health Professional before deciding whether to see this movie. From Warner Bros Pictures and Rated R, “Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night. Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events and his descent into Madness.” Joker runs 122 minutes. On TV, if you are into Suspense, Drama and Action shows, and you have not been watching the new FOX Series “The Prodigal Son”, you are certainly missing out. The series revolves around a young man, the son of a nefarious serial killer who has been caught and locked away for life in prison but not before he put his young son through a life of horror while growing up. Needless to say, the son has recurring night terrors about his childhood and all the things his dad did in his presence but in spite it all he has grown up to be a serial killer pro-filer for the police in hopes he can prevent people like his dad from running free and getting away with murder. Criminal Psychologist Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne), due to his horrible upbringing has the best insight as to how a serial killer thinks and why they do what they do so he is the perfect person to profile them. Meanwhile his serial killer dad in prison keeps reaching out to him trying to be part of every case. The Prodigal Son on the FOX Network, 8pm central on Monday’s. It’s worth a look. Hope your Fall is off to a great start and sneak into another great adventure and escape At The Movies. |
