At the Movies this month we’re starting to see the beginning of all those Summer Blockbusters or at least what should be.
All things considered things are creeping along at the Box Office for some movies that were supposed to be huge. For instance, SOLO: A Star Wars Story was supposed to have a huge opening last month and had a disappointing Box Office World Wide. However, two weeks ago It was holding on t the number two Box Office Earning bringing in a $15.8 Million behind Ocean’s 8 at $41.6 Million for that weekend. In case you ave not see SOLO I’ll tell you know the problem is not the movie. After all is was Directed by none other than Ron (Opie Taylor) Howard. In my humble opinion the problem with SOLO is the fact that it had NO bona fied Stars in it. Coupled with the fact that it had little TV Advertising all equates to little Buzz and a poor Box Office. From Walt Disney Pictures, “Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. The plot explores the early adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca, as the pair are involved in a heist within the criminal underworld and meet a young Lando Calrissian. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Solo and Chewbacca encounter the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. Rated: PG-13 (for sequences of sci-fi action/violence). Check It Out. Check It Out. Just out about a week ago, from Universal Pictures, “Three years since the theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment, Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.” Rated: PG-13 (for intense sequences of science-fiction violence and peril).
