The Summer Movie Season has begun and some of the biggest movies are still ahead of us. Have to say that I was totally surprised that The Mummy was as not as gig of a Box Office Hit as I thought it would be. I think many critics panned for all the wrong reasons. I personally saw the film and thought it was great even though somewhat predictable at the end. The fact that Tom Cruise took over the lead that had long been held by Brendan Fraser might have had something to do with it as well but I thought he did a great job. Don’t let the Bad Reviews keep you from stop seeing this movie. “Nick Morton is a soldier of fortune who plunders ancient sites for timeless artifacts and sells them to the highest bidder. When Nick and his partner come under attack in the Middle East, the ensuing battle accidentally unearths Ahmanet, a betrayed Egyptian princess who was entombed under the desert for thousands of years. With her powers constantly evolving, Morton must now stop the resurrected monster as she embarks on a furious rampage through the streets of London.” From: Universal Pictures, Rated: PG13 Runs: 120 Minutes Pirates of The Caribbean, Dead Men Tell No Tales with Johnny Depp didn’t do as great with the critics as well but again, I saw it and I thought it was good. Typical Pirates Movie but the story line was solid and the film moved right along. “Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy.” Again, If you like the Pirates adventures don’t let bad reviews stop you from seeing he great summer movie.
