There have been some good movies out this summer and there have been some that have not been so good. Right now there are a couple of interesting one to choose from so it’s a great time to duck out of this crazy Texas weather and into your favorite movie theater.
One film you should consider if you like a sophisticated, murder mystery is “A Simple Favor”. From Lionsgate Studio, A Simple Favor is; a stylish post-modern film directed by Paul Feig It centers around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy blogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined by Emily’s husband Sean (Henry Golding) in this thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge. Rated; R and Runs: 116 Minutes The New Predator Topped the Box Office for several weeks and follows the episode with Danny Glover and Gary Busey all to close. This time the Predators are back on mother earth and battling each other while trying to stay away from human predators themselves. A Predator ship being perused by a squad of predators itself, crash lands on earth after being shot down in the chase. It’s sole occupant is captured but not before loosing some important technology. Now both the U.S. Government is trying to find it and so are the alien predators that were perusing the ship. From 20th Century Fox; the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race. Rated; R.
