The months of April and May were something
we never thought we would witness in our life time. Looking back to this time in 2019 who would ever think that we would have to go through it. I remember as a teenager I remember a time that almost all places of business were well stocked. You could walk into any store and they would greet you and try to help in any way they could. There was a time that if you were seen walking around town with a mask you would be stopped and ask why you were wearing one. Now they want to know why you are not wearing one. Years ago we were doing a job and they were knocking down some interior walls made of adobe. The dust was so thick we were all wearing glasses and masks. There was a store near by and I went there to get us something to drink. It didnt even occur to me to remove the mask and i went inside to get some water and sodas. I was in there for five minutes or so and when I walked out there was two police cars in front of the store. The reason they were there was because I was wearing a mask. What i have seen in the last month or so makes me wonder are we ready for something like that. People arguing over items long lines, empty shelves and people just grabbing things out of other peoples hands, Then there is the man who was working day and night trying to keep us safe. I am referring to our County Judge MR.LEWIS O WENS. Every time he made a public statement he would say that he was part of a team trying to make sure we were safe. I saw various comments about the comments made on radio and facebook and also we should mention radio station K.W.M.C.1490AM. MR. MEMO GARZA, MR. JAVIER MARTINEZ, JAVIER MARTINEZ JR., DALINDA RAMIREZ at the station controls. Are we out of danger now or should we take it one day at a time until we are sure that the crisis is passed. Continue to listen and heed the directions giving by our leaders. Continue to listen to K.W.M.C. for all the new developments. I am looking forward to the time when we can enjoy our beautiful city. Go walking down on SAN FELIPE CREEK, Take a walk down Main St. visit the Museum, the winery, Lake Amistad and so many more places to and see here in my home town DEL RIO TEXAS. GOD BLESS |
