By Juan Padilla. Spring has arrived and the question ponders through: “What to do?” Normally it would be easy to say just to hang around with family and friends, but from there where do you go besides a restaurant with a good meal. In Del Rio believe it or not has many things to offer the family. From its beautiful man-made lake Del Rio also provides its natural springs and community entertainment. If you head out about 11 miles on 90 West, Amistad Lake will appear in sight. Amistad Lake is great this time of year with many campgrounds throughout the lake, you can bring your family and friends for an outdoors adventure by renting local boats. Also many bass tournaments take way during this season. So if you keep your eyes opened you will be able to spot a professional angler practicing for the next tournament. In the Mid-South of Del Rio you will come across San Felipe Creek which has many parks along the way. These parks give access to families to enjoy its natural surroundings with areas to swim and have family cookouts while the children enjoy the jungle gyms. The San Felipe Creek has always been a place for family and friends to enjoy Del Rio’s weather. In 1308 South Main Street stop by and visit the Whitehead Memorial Museum. They will be having many events throughout the whole year. There you will learn historical details and experience the roots of San Felipe in its day and how it has become Del Rio. There are many things to do around Del Rio, but to be informed stay attentive of local media. So don’t forget to take advantage of all the events, natural surroundings, and Lake Amistad. You will enjoy yourself so prepare yourself to take your family and friends. - See more at: http://www.kwmc1490.com/#sthash.zNqwA2JF.dpuf |
