See you soon At The Movies. At the Movies this month we’re starting to see the beginning of all those Summer Blockbusters or at least what should be.
All things considered things are creeping along at the Box Office for some movies that were supposed to be huge. For instance, SOLO: A Star Wars Story was supposed to have a huge opening last month and had a disappointing Box Office World Wide. However, two weeks ago It was holding on t the number two Box Office Earning bringing in a $15.8 Million behind Ocean’s 8 at $41.6 Million for that weekend. In case you ave not see SOLO I’ll tell you know the problem is not the movie. After all is was Directed by none other than Ron (Opie Taylor) Howard. In my humble opinion the problem with SOLO is the fact that it had NO bona fied Stars in it. Coupled with the fact that it had little TV Advertising all equates to little Buzz and a poor Box Office. From Walt Disney Pictures, “Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. The plot explores the early adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca, as the pair are involved in a heist within the criminal underworld and meet a young Lando Calrissian. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Solo and Chewbacca encounter the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. Rated: PG-13 (for sequences of sci-fi action/violence). Check It Out. Check It Out. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.” Rated: PG-13 (for intense sequences of science-fiction violence and peril). Great new movies to experience especially if your a big fan of the Action Genre flicks A couple that I have recently check out and highly recommend. 1st Liam Neeson is his latest movie called The Commuter. We're talking major suspense, Action and Thrills. He used to be a cop who left the police force 10 years ago and became a successful insurance broker until now when his company decides to downsize him out of a job. Not wanting to alarm his wife by getting home early he stops off at the old cop's bar for a few drinks to waste the time before he takes the train home. After a while his old partner shows up and they talk about his situation but something else in the bar just doesn't seem right and so it starts. The train ride home turns into a suspenseful, action packed, nightmare. I've always thought Liam Neeson was the modern day Charles Bronson and he has not disappointed in like roles. The Commuter from Lionsgate, in theaters now, Rated PG and runs 105 minutes. A Must See, Enjoy. Next, a lady I first saw in the TV Series Person of Interest where she played a Police Woman who then turns detective. You might have also seen her in The Empire and a few other things. Now she proves to us that she's a bona fied Movie Star as well. I'm talking about Taraji P Henson in Proud Mary. Holy James Bond Batman, Taraji delivers in this Action Packed flick about a Hit Woman who chooses to save a young man she made an orphan after a hit. It's a year later and she sets out to save the young man from the mean streets at a cost that could and almost does cost her, her life.
